Heads up, Oculus Rift, you’ve got some competition. Rumor has it Sony’s working on a brand-new virtual reality headset to rival the Oculus Rift. The two headsets aim to make fully immersive, 3D gaming a reality.

“Heads up, oculus rift, you’ve got some competition.” I think that open-world, 3D gaming may be the way of the future, but polling data and common sense show that this is the least social way to play video games or consume media, immersive or not. These kinds of headsets will never catch on commercially. There will not be one in every household in any number of years. This ‘rumored’ sony model will bomb, also “Slick LED Lighting” was a 2007 hype.
